One of our goals was to make Dream Child available to the children who may need it most, but who may not have the financial resources to purchase the CD. These children may be dealing with life-threatening illnesses, they may suffer undue stress in the home, they may suffer from child sleeping problems, they may be in situations where they don't get much time with their parent(s) because mom and dad are too busy trying to pay for life's basic necessities, or they may have some disabilities that makes life a little more challenging for them and the people who care for them.
We are absolutely delighted to be able to put 10% of our profits towards buying copies of Dream Child to distribute to organizations or individuals who can reach these children. And although we don't have any profits yet, we have donated over 500 CDs (see home page for a list of some of the beneficiaries).
How do we determine where to distribute these donated CDs? Our guidelines are as follows:
The following guidelines are not mandatory, just preferences:
We will also consider people who are not counsellors or organizations, but who are simply out doing great work in neighbourhoods.
If you have a request for a single CD for a child in need, and you do not have the financial resources to purchase it, please review the guidelines above and apply as shown below.
We will publish the names of the organizations and people co-ordinating our donations, but not the family or child receiving the donation.
To make your request, please send an email to Nancy Bradshaw at Nancy [at] joyfilledmusic.com , demonstrating to the best of your ability that the child(ren) for whom you are making the request fulfill our guidelines.
(We are also looking for a wholesale or retail partner that may be able to provide low-end walkmans for these children, as they may not own walkmans or ghetto blasters or for while they are in the hospital. If you know of a potential source please contact us ).
