"To my knowledge there is nothing like this available for children. It is a unique tool for promoting a child's sense of feeling unconditionally loved.
The stories and songs are imaginative, inspiring and fun. The loving messages they promote can be carried and applied throughout a child's daily life. "

Our minds are most open right before sleep, so any information we absorb will have a higher impact on our subconscious. Therefore, bedtime is a wonderful time for positive, loving affirmations through songs and stories. The following is a list of ways in which Dream Child can benefit you and your child:
As parents, we all want more time and more sleep – but our children can benefit just as much from sleeping more and better. According to Dr. Marc Weissbluth, MD, author of Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child , sleep is the power source that keeps the mind alert and calm. In his study, children who slept more were shown to be more positive and more adaptable.
Tension in the home is one reason that young children cry at night. In The Psychic Pathway — A Workbook for Reawakening the Soul by Sonia Choquette, PhD (recommended by Julia Cameron in The Artist's Way ), Sonia writes of the time after the birth of her second child. She and her husband were stretched so thin that, while on the outside they appeared very successful, inside they were tired, sad and resentful. Their youngest child screamed all night long and both parents were completely sleep deprived.
Then, Sonia went away to Hawaii , where she was able to slow down enough to realize that she and her husband were keeping their child from sleeping. Their home was so filled with tension and sad vibrations that it was keeping their child awake, and she was using her tears to try and get their attention.
Sonia came home and readjusted her priorities. She began doing much less and creating more time for enjoyment both for herself and with her husband. Everything seemed easier when she was happy, and her child slept more easily.
Nancy says: I know this is true for me. When I am feeling peaceful, loving and present, my time with my daughter Faith seems to flow joyfully and easily. When I prioritize only a few things and plan a day with more flexibility, it goes well. However, when I am feeling tired and resentful, let's just say those are not our best times and life becomes a chore.
Dream Child is designed to be a little half-hour Hawaii for parents – if you listen to it with your child, it can be a time for all of you to relax, breathe, slow down and connect with your own joyful spirit.
It has been widely documented that imbedding positive, loving affirmations – which can become beliefs – into the subconscious can be a powerful way to heal the body and succeed in manifesting one's dreams. Case studies by such cutting-edge doctors, therapists, and spiritual teachers as Dr. Christiane Northrup, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Brian Weiss, Louise Hay, Carolyn Myss, Doreen Virtue and Shakhi Gawain have shown that when a person's subconscious beliefs are negative, energy centres (chakras) become blocked, which can lead to illness. This research also shows that the practice of positive affirmations can be a simple but powerful healing tool.
Rather than waiting for our children to get ill, we have designed Dream Child to proactively strengthen positive subconscious beliefs and open energy centres, through positive affirmations and other tools that ensure the message gets to the child's subconscious mind.
The subconscious is the repository of all our unconscious beliefs and values. That is why people under hypnosis can remember past events that they cannot remember with their conscious mind, and are also able to access insights and universal truths. Having negative beliefs in one's subconscious can lead to depression in both children and adults. Although such depression is unfortunately a common problem, there are tools that you can use to help your children resist it. In fact, childhood is a critical time: psychological research shows that between birth and age 7 (and particularly from birth to age 2) a person's subconscious brain is particularly open to accepting core beliefs and values.
Dream Child was created to assist with the care and feeding of the young child's subconscious, by affirming positive beliefs and values, like “I am unconditionally, deeply loved.” The subconscious mind is most open right before sleep, and responds best to information conveyed through music, rhymes, repetition, symbolism, songs and stories. Dream Child uses all of these things to convey a message of love and light to the child's subconscious. When children sing the catchy songs, they will strengthen the impact of the message even further. Therefore, if listened to regularly, Dream Child can help children to experience vibrant, healthy feelings that will strengthen their sense of their own well-being. It can also help children to build the inner resources they need to be in charge of their own reality and respond to any situation.
Affirmations like the ones incorporated into Dream Child are just one important part of the puzzle. There is much more to be learned, and parents can have an enormous impact with relatively little effort. For example, in his book The Optimist Child , psychology professor Martin Seligmann outlines simple, fun “detective-based” approaches parents can use to help uncover their children's negative beliefs, and support them in developing more accurate and more empowering positive beliefs. Using what you learn from books such as this and from your own experiences with the Dream Child CD, you could create custom affirmations and rhymes for yourself and your child to repeat before bedtime.
According to expert Neuro-Linguistic Practitioners (NLPs), we can only solve problems when we are in a resourceful state, feeling positive and optimistic rather than negative. Dream Child helps children to find that resourceful state through loving, joyful music and songs that connect them with their inner spirit.
In his best-selling book Power vs. Force , renowned psychiatrist Dr. David Hawkins (co-author of Orthomolecular Psychiatry with Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling), has presented leading-edge research that uses kinesiology (muscle testing on thousands of subjects) to determine and calibrate the impact of different emotions.
Dr. Hawkins shows that our culture is operating on emotions – mostly fear-based – that test below the 200 calibration level, and we are seeing the results of this in our schools and our society. Over the 200 level, we start moving into the more loving emotions (courage and trust) and we can much more easily attract and manifest good health and abundance. Over 250, we move into feelings of optimism, forgiveness, understanding, reverence and love. In those moments when we are feeling complete bliss, enlightenment and one-ness with all, our calibration level is between 700 and 1,000. According to Dr. Hawkins, such spiritual people as Ghandi and Jesus have achieved this rare state.
Interestingly, Dr. Hawkins has also demonstrated that our bodies go weak when we are operating from anger, revenge, or judgement – and that we are physically stronger when we are experiencing love, compassion and forgiveness. This explains how we can manifest and heal our bodies more easily when we are in a loving-based state.
This also explains why positive parenting approaches get better results. When we shame our children, they often move into shame and are vibrating at a level of 20, where they lack positive resources and feel stuck. But if we work with them to outline the positive behaviours that we want, rather than spend time focusing on what they have done wrong, we may move them up to a level of 175 (pride) or even 300 (inspired).
Therefore, not only will our children feel happier, their bodies will also be stronger if they spend more time in the higher calibrated emotional levels (like love and joy). Dream Child is intended to help you and your child reach those levels. It is also our hope that Dream Child may help to tip the balance over into the higher levels for children who may not have had the ideal amount of positive parenting. It may also help those that psychotherapist Doreen Virtue has called “Indigo Children” – hypersensitive, highly intuitive children who operate so differently from most others that they are often wrongly diagnosed as having ADD or ADHA, when really they need different kinds of support – not drugs such as Ritalin. Dr. Hawkins and NLP experts have observed that because positive thoughts vibrate at much higher levels, one positive reinforcement can counterbalance 10 negative thoughts.
Similarly, people like Ghandi who vibrate at a much higher level than most (over 700) can counterbalance 70 million people – which is why he was able to be such an inspiring and powerful leader. Have you ever noticed that when you are around a warm, loving, authentically joyous person, you feel good too? As we each increase our individual level of emotional vibration, we are affecting those around us in a positive way.

Nancy says: Funny, I always used to say that sitting around meditating will never create world peace. But while I still believe action is important, I am realizing that when we are in good states ourselves, we are being the change we want in the world. How can we create a nurturing, joyful environment for children? Only by living that environment ourselves. As Marianne Williamson writes about women (and I believe it also applies to men), “We have a job to do, reclaiming our glory.” If we believe our children are enchanted, then all of us must be, too.
With that in mind, we designed the music and stories of Dream Child to work on many levels – to help your child slow down, to open his or hear joyful, loving heart and move from that joyous place to the highest level of calibration, which is an innate sense of one-ness. This is done through stories and music that have been created to be spiritual and harmonious with the vast majority of religious beliefs – all of which include the importance of gratitude, love and the interconnectedness of us all.
Dream Child will assist children in becoming self-sufficient, by teaching them to comfort themselves through the world of imagination and the divine, and giving them the tools to access this world for themselves at any time. We have carefully chosen magical, mystical, and spiritual symbols that appear universally amongst many religions, to bring in a sense of the divine at a safe and playful level that appeals to children.
Tobin Hart's groundbreaking research on children's spirituality, published in a book called The Spiritual Lives of Children , has shown that over 90% of kids have their own version of a spiritual connection ( www.childspirit.net ). Many parents are searching for a way to support their children in feeling that sense of oneness; Dream Child uses techniques that assist in this process and can help children and parents share the spiritual experience.
In our sometimes troubling world, many of us draw on spiritual comfort in times of crisis. Why should children be any different? Tobin Hart asserts that a child's inner or spiritual voice may serve as their biggest lifeline during such times. It is our hope that Dream Child will help children to find their own way of accessing spiritual comfort.
To give integrity to the energy we were creating as we made the CD, we opened with prayers to the divine asking to be of service to children and their parents. We opened our own energy centres and used the power of gorgeous crystals in the studio.
