One of the greatest delights about having my daughter is discovering how the more present I am and the more in touch with my own inner love & spirit, the more enjoyable our days are together and the more my child opens up to me. How can we be there for our child unless we are first centred in ourselves which sometimes for me means getting up before anyone else so I can have quiet space to meditate or pray (even 5 minutes helps me set the tone for my day).
I have also included resources here to deal with the many personal issues we face. The less controllable nature of having a young child brings out our triggers and we can end up in automatic reactions we don't want. As a wonderful counsellor I know says, the best gift you can give your children is to do your own personal growth work (so you are not acting like a young child who also has all the power).
PD Seminars www.haven.ca They offer excellent personal growth courses on everything from Anger to Relationship Renewal an d their quality is outstanding while also being well priced. They are a private post secondary institution and their courses range from 3 25 days.
